Welcome and Introductions

Ingest Logistics
  • The files themselves:
    • Wav files and mp3 derivates
    • Located on RLTS Cifs
    • We don't know if the Cifs can be mounted to the repository.
  • In March, Jack will be setting up an ingest space in TTS.
  • Flat folder structure - just folders of Wav's and mp3s.

  • Ingest:
    • A folder wavs will be the collection
    • Each Wav file will need to be its own folder
    • Will need a metadata spreadsheet
    • Local ID will be the same as the file name - this is what makes the local repository URL
    • An ARK will be created.
  • Foldering the files
    • Moira can probably script the creation of folders
  • Moving files to the staging place
    • Don't move them yet.
    • Wait for Jim T and Jack
  • Metadata:
    • It doesn't have to be 100% ready when we ingest
  • First batch:
    • 1341 files w/ metadata, 1.75 TB
    • Break it up into 4 chunks of less than 1 tb and less than 500 items.
    • Moira and Susan would do the slicing and dicing

The data:

  • First batch will all be public
  • TBD if derivatives and masters get ingested together or separately.

  • Subsequent Batches
    • Hoping all subsequent batches are easy after the first one
    • Molly will schedule subsequent batches in coordination w/ other DC projects and incoordination with Susan, Moira, Craig and Laura.

Timeline and Next Steps

When the staging location exists

  • Craig will move data and send a path to Susan and Moira
  • Craig and Laura will deliver metadata as a csv.

Short term:

  • Submit a ticket to get Moira and Susan access to CIFs 14 - Craig to send to Moira / Susan
  • Craig submit a ticket
