Chapel Recordings Enhanced Metadata
First meeting to discuss modeling enhanced metadata: https://3.basecamp.com/3615344/buckets/2109790/documents/956373595
The enhanced metadata that will be incorporated into the Duke Chapel Recordings digital collection is on the "Sermons" tab of this google spreadsheet. This content is being actively worked on by research assistants hired and managed by the Divinity School. Records that have a value of "Completed" in the Status column can be considered complete; however, we will work out a time for formal hand-off of the metadata to be ingested at a later date with the Chapel team.
These fields from the spreadsheet will be incorporated into the existing DDR DC metadata application profile as follows:
Column(s) in spreadsheet | DDR MAP field | Collection portal label | Example value (using dcrau001032) |

Questions for Chapel team, plus outcomes from meeting on 4/20/18 in bold italics:
- Discuss/confirm order of fields for display.
- The display order in the mockups is good
- Sort Speaker, Liturgical Calendar, Biblical Books, Chapter and Verse, and Subject alphabetically
- Confirm these are the labels they want:
- Biblical Books
- Chapter and Verse
- ^ these are good to go
- Discuss options for a different label for "Liturgical Season and Holy Days" - this one is too long and the item page truncates it.
- use "Liturgical Calendar"
- Discuss facets. In addition to the standard facets (speaker, subject, format), add the following, in this order:
- Liturgical Calendar
- Biblical Books
- Chapter and Verse (display collapsed by default beneath Biblical Books)
- Confirm that the merged/prepended reading/chapter & verse stored in Description field is a) necessary, b) formatted as they would like.
- Don't include this information in the Description field
- Ask what language they would like to use for the statement about the abstract.
- Use "(Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)"
The Chapel team will remediate the metadata in the spreadsheet to make sure no Liturgical Seasons or Holy Days share the same text string.
